    This is a Full Time, benefit eligible position, 40 hours, MOnday through Friday.

    Perform tasks involving the interior and exterior physical appearance (curb appeal) and upkeep of housing units. Assist in the completion of orders, turnovers, and project in a safe and timely. Communicates significant incidents, issues and or concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor.


    • Install light bulbs, doors, cabinets, paneling and other property related mechanicals.
    • Paint interior and/or exterior walls and cabinets.
    • Perform walk-through of buildings and property grounds, removing litter and cleaning surfaces.
    • Use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces.
    • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
    • Identify and report possible repairs.
    • Janitorial tasks-sweeping, moping, washing windows and walls, scrubbing refrigerators and ovens, pressure washing houses, and taking trash to the dump.
    • Assist in the completion of turnovers in a timely manner, while retaining apartment quality.
    • Maintains grounds; lawn mowing, maintain landscaping, snow removal- plowing, snow blowing, and shoveling.
    • Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals.
    • Completing project based tasks as assigned by maintenance supervisor.
    • May assist in obtaining and/or unloading of delivery supplies.
    • Assist with maintaining company standards for property security.
    • Sets example and maintains accountability for other maintenance staff in matters of dress and appearance. 
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies
    • Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions
    • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
    • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
    • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
    • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
    • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
    • Basic arithmetic ability needed to count and take inventory.
    • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
    • Must be able to lift up to 60lbs.
    • Knowledge of and the ability to operate cleaning equipment related to building maintenance.
    • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with other employees as well as our residents.
    • Experience in facility maintenance or skilled trades preferred.
    • Valid NYS driver’s license with no restrictions or major infractions.
    • Must be able to meet the requirements of a Drug Free Workplace which includes but is not limited to negative results on pre-employment, post- accident/incident, random and reasonable suspicion testing.
