    NEW POSITION / ENTRY LEVEL:  This is a full time permanent position, benefit eligible position that under the direction of the Controller or his/her designee within the Accounting department, this position will be responsible for performing assignments requiring knowledge of company cost control techniques and an understanding of not for profit accounting and the ability to understand or learn the property development / real estate operations within the company.


    • Review a broad range of financial statements. Assess organizational financial statements for completeness and consistency, and communicate ambiguities or inconsistencies with internal and external counterparties.
    • Enter financial data and use our workflows to produce company ratings. Maintain a high level of accuracy while producing financial ratings in the timely manner expected by our clients.
    • Monitor and analyze all factors which could adversely affect the financial position of portfolios and present results in an organized form with sufficient detail to facilitate review by executive management.
    • With guidance of the accounting staff, assist in the preparation of financial analyses of assigned portfolios covering revenue projections, cash flow inputs, and overheads.   Evaluate and assess trends in order to predict future performance.
    • Prepare internal and external reports for portfolios of limited scope and complexity. Assist accounting staff in the accumulation and analysis of data required for programs, board meetings, grants, etc.,  of broader scope and complexity.
    • Assist in the development of department budgets and investigate variances that deviate.
    • Ensure costs are allocated to proper portfolios and accounts on a continuous basis in accordance with established procedures. Prepare reports that compare budgets with actual expenses.
    • Prepare financial reports and analysis in support of monthly close, division and corporate reviews, including the Annual Plan, Strategic Plan, and Quarterly Forecast Updates.
    • Support Sarbanes - Oxley testing and perform special financial analysis as required.
    • Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality.

    Other items: 

    • Data entry.
    • Bank account reconciliations. 
    • Processing invoices and security deposits. 
    • Reviews prepaid invoices for appropriate documentation.
    • Performs filing and coping. 
    • Assists in year end audit preparation.
    • Assists accounting personnel as necessary.


    Required skills:

    • Strong Knowledge of Accounting principles and practices.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to develop and maintain positive, professional and collaborative relationships.
    • Maintain positive work atmosphere by communicating in a manner that fosters good relations.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft software products including Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
    • Ability to work in an office environment sitting and working at a computer for large portions of the work day.


    Observe all applicable regulations, procedures and directives of the organization and supervisor.

    • Minimum Associates Degree in Accounting Bachelor’s Preferred.
    • 2 years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
    • Valid driver’s license with no major restrictions and acceptable to Housing Visions insurance carrier required.
    • Must be able to meet the requirements of a Drug Free Workplace which includes but is not limited to negative results on pre-employment, random and reasonable suspicion testing.
