  • Overview

    Full Time, Benefit Eligible Responsibilities include general ledger, financial statements, cash flow analysis and projections, forecasting and reporting. Interaction with all teams within the company as well as with independent auditors during preparation of annual audited financial statements for partnerships and main entities.

    Responsibilities

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Prepare monthly cash flow, accruals and consolidated financial statements for the main entities.
    • Reconciles and monitors expenditures against pre-approved budgets, alerting Controller of discrepancies.
    • Prepare and analyze monthly projections for the projects in the Development Stage. Work with Development Team to make changes as needed.
    • Assist Controller with other projections, analysis and reporting as assigned.
    • Prepare monthly reconciliations for all due to/from accounts.
    • Enters all journal entries on computerized accounting system monthly and on as needed basis.
    • Assists Controller with year-end reporting and audits.
    • Prepare quarterly sales tax returns.
    • Establish good banking relationships and be able to open, close and monitor all bank accounts.
    • Present financial information to Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
    • Oversee all cash account bank reconciliations.
    • Prepare deposits of all cash receipts daily.
    • Assist Property Management with tenant account activity (move-ins, move-outs).
    • Review general ledger activity and correct accordingly for account number, location and department.
    • Support annual budget effort company wide.
    • Prepare construction cost certification worksheet and binder.
    • Prepare for year-end audit of all entities.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Strong knowledge of double entry accounting required.
    • Strong financial, quantitative and analytical skills.
    • Strong organizational, multitasking and planning skills.
    • Good understanding of accrual accounting.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Detail oriented, with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
    • Ability to work independently or as a team member on projects of all sizes, prioritizes multiple tasks, and performs accurately with short deadlines.
    • Desire to excel in work for the benefit of the company mission
    • Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations
    • Proficiency in Microsoft software products including Excel, Word and Outlook preferred.
    • Experience with Intacct and Foundation software preferred. Ability to learn new software in a timely manner.
    • Must be able to meet the requirements of a Drug Free Workplace which includes but is not limited to negative results on pre-employment, post- accident/incident, random and reasonable suspicion testing.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CREDENTIALS AND LICENSES:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 4 years of accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
    • Prior experience working with non-profit, real estate development and/or property management organizations preferred.
    • Valid driver’s license with no restrictions required. Motor vehicle record must be acceptable to company selected insurance carrier.
